Part 4 of the Law of Attraction: the Most Awesome Physics Lesson Ever

"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.” - Albert Einstein

This segment is going to be a lot different from last week's where we discussed my super awesome salvation. Today we're going to talk about how science, of all things, makes the idea of God a lot more legit for those who have a hard time believing in a higher power or the big meany in the sky. The fun news is, even if you walk away still not believing, it doesn't really matter because the laws of the Universe apply to everyone regardless.

Have you ever heard the phrase “thoughts become things”? It’s true. Your thoughts, whether you believe it or not, create the world around you. They always have and they always will, and they will whether you believe it or not. The notion that thoughts become things is the basis of the Law of Attraction, which states that “like attracts like”. In a nutshell, this means that your positive or negative thoughts will bring about the corresponding positive or negative results. It’s the law, and it cannot be disproved, because any attempt to do so will only prove it right. Hey, I don’t make the rules.

If you think I’m just some idiot who drank the Koolaid, then I'm in great company. Einstein, Henry Ford, Abraham Lincoln, and countless others understood and utilized the law of attraction in their lives. Don't get me wrong; I'm not comparing myself to Abraham Lincoln or Einstein, because damn, have you seen the way they dressed? But I'm more than happy to call myself their student.

Whether you’re a Christian or an atheist, it really doesn’t matter. This law applies in any belief scenario, and amazingly, this is the one area where science and religion actually come together on something.

Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." That’s a pretty big statement, yet when most people hear it, the message is no more potent than that of a fairy tale. Just one more flowery thing Jesus went around declaring.

We’re taught in Sunday school to believe that Jesus didn’t mean this literally; because of course we can’t move a mountain, right? How many times have you been told that the Bible isn’t meant to be taken literally? How many times has it been said that these are just parables presented in an exaggerated manner in order for us to get it, since we’re so simple minded and all.  The truth is, Jesus meant what he said quite literally. The guy didn’t just walk around spouting useless garbage to crowds of people because he was an attention hog. We’ve reduced the Son of God to a common street performer. The fact is, Jesus understood and relentlessly communicated the Law of Attraction.

Maybe Jesus and the Bible don’t interest you, though. Maybe you’re thinking, I thought this was supposed to be a physics lesson, not church! OK. Well then let’s talk physics.

Einstein is known for many things, but most notably the principle of E=MC2. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to understand the concept. This model concludes that the cosmos can be broken down to universes, and universes to galaxies, galaxies to planets, and planets to people. The people are broken down into the organs of the body, and those organs can be broken down to cells, then to molecules, then to atoms, and finally, to energy. What he’s telling us is that our bodies and everything around us are made up of the same thing – energy. This means a Ruffle, a Ferrari, or a sweet little kitty cat are all engineered of the same building blocks that we are. We’re pure energy, and part of the one energy that makes up all things! Call that one energy whatever you want but it doesn’t change what it is or what we are in relation to it.

To borrow from James Ray, if you ask a quantum physicist what creates the world, he'll tell you energy does. Ask what energy is and the answer you'll get is that it can't be created or destroyed, always was, always has been, always will be, always moving into form, through form and out of form. Now go to a theologian and ask what creates the world. Of course the answer will be God. But what is God? Something that can't be created or destroyed, always was, always has been, always will be, always moving into form, through form, and out of form.

I realize it’s a little hard to understand that we aren’t solid, and that nothing else is solid either. Think about the fact that no energy molecule is permanently attached to another – we are the sum of a gazillion moving particles, or waves of energy, that aren’t stuck to each other. That’s a big deal! That means that the limitations we put on ourselves and the things around us are there because we think they are. This isn’t our fault, though. We just have to undo our previous programming. Totally doable, because if you’re capable of forming a thought, you’re capable of making life exactly what you want it to be.

Any doctor will tell you that our brains operate by means of electrical impulses. So what is electricity, exactly? Simply put, electricity is energy in motion. So, if our physical bodies are composed of energy, and the electrical impulses in our brains are energy in motion, wouldn’t it be reasonable to conclude that the same impulses that move our un-solid bodies could be the same ones that manipulate the other un-solid stuff around us? Gives me chills just thinking about it.

Now that we know everything is made up of the same stuff, let’s take it one step further. We know that sound waves operate along different frequencies. No one argues that. We understand that if we clap our hands, we send sound waves out into the universe along a particular frequency.  Our brains work in exactly the same way. You can't see them any better than you can see sound waves, but they're just as real.

Your thought, aka energy particle, is broadcast into the universe in the form of a wave and on a certain frequency, consequently arranging other energy particles into the thing that you’re thinking, and onto the frequency you’re thinking it. Put another way, the energy particles of the thing you imagine will join together in the shape you ask, returning to you on the same frequency that you asked of it. This being the case, you can never ask for a dragon and receive a unicorn, the same way you can't sit around and bitch about what you don't want and get what you do want.

If you do your research, and I hope you do, you'll discover - through science - that higher feelings, like love and happiness, send out higher frequencies, while lower feelings like anger and resentment operate along very low frequencies. These higher feelings bring about better life experiences, while the lower feelings bring about sucky things. Sadly, some scientists have known this for many decades but weren't taken seriously in the scientific community, or anywhere else, for that matter. Modern science is changing all that. We'll talk much more about this in the coming segments, but in the meantime, here are a couple of fascinating books on the subject.

If we could ever get past the meatsuit mentality that we have, we'd discover this world to be a magical place instead of the crapfest many of us have trudged through for years. Einstein once said, “Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions”. He intended to be taken literally.

Join me next Monday for Part 5 of the Law of Attraction: the Yes Man, where we discuss just exactly how this energy works, and how you can make it work in your own life. Happy Monday!
